Jewellery & Silversmithing
Naomi began making jewellery at the age of 14 in Lewes and has never stopped! She went on to graduate with BA Hons from Middlesex Polytechnic in 1990 and has been working from Rose Hill workshop in Brighton since 2002, selling her jewellery through galleries and craft fairs all over the country.
Naomi always designs as she works, allowing the making process to inspire the final design.
She uses leaves, plants and feathers to create textures on silver giving her work a ‘found’ quality- as if the pieces were produced by a natural process. She explores new ideas through playing with metal: embossing, hammering, folding and bending to create forms derived from nature particularly seeds and flowers.
Naomi likes to use contrasting textures of different plants and adds details of gold and coloured semi-precious stones. She makes all her jewellery by hand, so each piece is unique.
