Colin trained and worked at the prestigious Edward Barnsley workshop (Hampshire) for 13 years. He was awarded Guild Mark 229 from The Worshipful Company of Furniture makers in 1998. He was invited on the Register of Professional Turners (London) in 2008. Colin has run his own workshop since 2005.
Colin mainly designs and makes furniture to commission to the “clients specification”. Most commissions are private. He has also worked on a number of ecclesiastical pieces.
In addition to commissions, his workshop is also used for sculptural turning, letter carving and various courses.
Colin mainly works in British timbers. Sometimes furniture is made using a combination of timbers to enhance the appearance of the piece.
Colin trained and worked in the Arts and Crafts style, his designs and techniques tend to use traditional principles but with a contemporary twist.
