Glass
Debbie comes from a family of Arts and Crafts people, her maternal grandparents were members of The Ditchling Guild. Debbie completed her Art Foundation at Brighton and originally set out as an illustrator.
She has been making Stained Glass for over twenty years and is a qualified teacher, teaching her craft to adults. Debbie has taught at various locations including City College Brighton but more recently from her home studio.
About
Debbie uses traditional tools, materials and techniques but has a modern approach to an ancient craft. From her love of illustration Debbie includes painted, fused and sand blasted glass to give detail in her work. Focusing on design, composition, colour, texture and transparency Debbie is inspired by the play of light through glass, it is a wonderful medium where she is able to create something truly personal and unique.
Debbie exhibits throughout the year and delights in talking to people about her craft, she also enjoys the challenge of a commission having designed and created three Church Windows and sold work to private homes around the world.
