Anna discovered her love of woodturning whilst studying 3D Crafts at the University of Brighton. She graduated in 2004 with a BA Hons and was recognised with an award for “Outstanding Artistic Achievement”. She has a small workshop in Worthing where she creates her beautiful pieces which have found loving homes in countries all around the world.
Woodturning is immensely satisfying and fun! The shavings fly as a form begins to take shape, from a rough chunk of freshly felled wood or a carefully prepared laminated woodturning blank. Anna feels incredibly lucky to get such enjoyment out of her work! She is a hard-working perfectionist though, never cutting corners and her pieces are always meticulously finished. Her work is mostly about celebrating the beauty of wood but occasionally she might paint an apple which looks so real you’ll pick it up to take a bite! She loves to talk about her passion for wood and woodturning, always enjoying the chance to meet and speak with visitors at the Guild shows, where she regularly exhibits.
