Description
In celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Sussex Guild Shop, the price for this workshop includes a lowered tuition fee of £12 per two hour workshop, plus materials. The total for Introduction to Ceramic Sculpture is £12 tutition x 2 plus £10 materials (£34 total)
This workshop will be an introduction to making sculptural forms from clay, suitable for all levels of experience.
The workshop will run in two sessions with a lunch break inbetween. In the first half, Ember will demonstrate building techniques such as creating a form around an air bubble, carving from a solid block, using paper as a former, and hollowing out. Participants will then have an opportunity to make a small sculptural form to their own design, with expert guidance. In the second half participants will refine their sculptures, hollow out as necessary and prepare them to take home or to be fired. If you would like your finished piece fired and glazed this will be an additional cost to be discussed with the tutor.

Ember will also be able to give expert advice if you are looking to gather information for a personal project.
