Jason Mosseri

Wood

Jason has been a painter, tattooist and furniture maker since he left Brighton Polytechnic in 1992. He studied chairmaking in the UK and then in Tennessee, under master chair maker, Curtis Buchanan. He teaches chairmaking at his workshop in Sussex, and at Westdean College. He is a QEST scholar.

About

Jason makes modern Windsor chairs and furniture, with a strong emphasis on finely balanced, sculptural form and strong bold silhouette, grounded in the tradition of historic chairmaking. He enjoys the discipline of working within an established form, that is defined by its practicality and comfort. Sustainability, the use of local Sussex timbers, and time-honoured techniques are at the heart of his making. Work can be commissioned or bought direct.

Jason also teaches ‘off grid’ chairmaking at his woodland workshop in East Sussex during the Spring and Summer months.
