Metals

A self taught cutler in the heart of Stanmer Park, Beggs’ work is a blend of tradition and innovation, using sought-after materials with historical significance. Dedicated to championing the heirloom mentality to inspire a renewed appreciation for the values of longevity and stewardship.

About

After working closely with The Set Restaurant for six years, Beggs embarked on a new adventure to Osaka, Japan. However, as their visa approached its renewal date the pandemic hit forcing them to return to Brighton without a job, furlough support, or income.

Faced with these challenges they decided to carve their own path, leveraging over a decade of knife usage experience in hospitality and the knowledge gained from the master blacksmiths in Sakai. This led them to the world of blacksmithing, where they now specialize in creating bespoke cutlery and jewellery.

By re-breathing life into the old forgotten materials with provenance, they aim to create new heirlooms for generations to come. Each crafted piece is a testament to the value of quality and craftsmanship, designed to be cherished and passed down through the ages.
In a world where disposability often overshadows durability all too often, this art stands as a reminder of the importance of preserving our heritage. Through these bespoke creations, we can celebrate the timeless connection between past and present.
